Bandwidth The amount of data transmitted over a given internet connection within a timeframe.

Domain Name An alphanumeric name registered to an owner to point to email, web and other internet related services.

Headers A section of an email detailing the path the email took from sender to recipient, including servers, the time the servers were reached, and any messages they returned when dealing with the email.

Mail Server A server responsible for sending and receiving email.

Proxies Servers which sit between an application such as a web browser or email program and the server providing the service. May respond to requests itself if able or passes query to the main server if needed.

Spam Unsolicited bulk email sent to sell or advertise products or for other commercial purposes.

Spammer A sender of Spam

Whois Record The file containing the ownership and contact information for a domain, as well as the nameservers authoritative for it. This record is maintained by the registrar of the domain, and filed with the root servers which are operated by the domain name registry.
