Section Two • Adding the IP Address
for the Primary Nameserver

This link brings you to a simple page allowing you to enter the IP address of your primary nameserver. Enter the IP address of your primary nameserver in the blank provided and click "next" to continue.

This brings you to a page to confirm the change you are about to make, which also includes potential error messages if they are warranted and gives you the option of either going back to change the information or committing the changes as is.

The error message above is one of the more common, and may or may not represent a problem. What it is telling you is that that IP does not have a registry level record (called a "glue record") pointing a nameserver hostname to it. These records must be set up if a domain is to delegate to the nameserver, so if you are planning on using your primary nameserver on the whois record and get that message you will need to contact your registrar and have them create a glue record pointing the nameserver hostname to that IP address. If you are using this as an unpublished primary, you can simply leave things as they are. Either way, unless you've entered the IP incorrectly you would commit the changes by clicking "next," and then "done" on the next page to return to the members page.
