Introduction 2/2
Domains are often sold, traded, or passed to different managers within an organization, or otherwise change hands like any other form of property. When this happens one must both officially mark that such a change has occurred and transfer day-to-day control over the domain to the other individual or company. This must be arranged through the registrar of the domain, who changes both the record of ownership on the whois record and the person authorised to make changes to the domain.

Each registrar will have different procedures for how these changes are handled. In this tutorial we will outline our procedures, and try to inform you of what you have to ask other registrars in order to find out how their systems work.
