Section Two • Confirming the Registrant Transfer
Once the registrant transfer has been submitted by the registrar of the domain, both the new and old admin contacts will receive an email from CIRA requesting that they confirm the transfer. This will require them to go to a webpage listed in the email, which they will need to login to with their CIRA account ID and password. This ID and password are assigned to the account by CIRA when it is created and emailed to the admin contact. The admin contact should save this information, as many changes to .ca domains require this kind of confirmation, but if he or she has not you can contact your registrar to have it sent to the admin contact again. If easyDNS is the registrar, we provide a utility to retrieve the CIRA ID and password.

Once you have logged in you will see a page detailing the changes, in this case a change of registrant, and options to confirm, decline, or wait and confirm or decline at a later date. When both parties have confirmed the registrant transfer the change will go through and the whois data will be updated.
