While the .ca whois record presents substantially the same information as the whois of other TLDs, it is structured differently in being composed of 2 parts.

If you look under the description section of the whois record, you will see 3 numbers listed, for the registrar, registrant and domain. The registrar number refers to the company responsible for maintaining the domain with CIRA on behalf of the owner. The other 2 numbers are assigned to the registrant and the domain, which are the 2 parts of the whois record. The domain itself, identified by the number, includes the domain name, whether it is a registered trademark, and the nameservers assigned to it. All contact and registrant information is included and managed through the registrant account.
