Section Two • Checks on whois information

When the application is generated, the data you have entered is checked to make sure the information is valid and complete. If, for example, you have left out a name or email address, this will be noticed and the web interface will give you the opportunity to correct the information before submitting the application to CIRA. Once that information has been corrected the application can be submitted to CIRA.

CIRA also checks the whois data when it receives the application, and may choose to question the registrant or have the registrar, easyDNS in this case, do so on their behalf. Since we've already checked for most common omissions, the main reason CIRA would question the data is if the information is inconsistent with the legal type selected for the registrant account. They might also do so if the contact information does not name an individual, or if some of the information appears invalid, such as 123-456-7890 as a phone number.

Assuming that the application is complete and without any of the above problems, or once such problems have been corrected, the admin contact will receive a request to confirm the registration by email.
