Section One • Cname records in ReverseDNS

The other main type of record for reverse DNS that you can manage through our service are called Cname records, also referred to as Aliases. These cause the IP for which it is created to point to the PTR record for another IP and otherwise behave like the other IP. So if you have 2 IPs that need to point to the same host you can create the PTR records for one and point the other to it as a Cname so that you only have to update the one record if the hostname needs to be changed.
