When our nameservers receive an automatic dynamic update for a domain, they reload the zone file immediately so that we have the correct IP address on file to hand out to other servers on the internet.

Once an update is received and recorded, the amount of time it takes for all servers on the internet to use the new IP will depend on the domain names Minimum setting (also called the TTL setting or Time to Live setting).

Therefore, for domain names using dynamic IP's you want the TTL to be quite low. All dynamic domains on easyDNS have the minimum/TTL set to 2 minutes by default.
