4 • select, download and setup a dynamic DNS client

You will now see a message saying that dynamic dns for your domain name has been enabled and a list of dynamic dns software clients and links to download each one.

You will need to select one of the client programs for your operating system (Windows, Macintosh, or Unix/Linux), download, install, and configure it to update your domain name.

For a computer running Linux, unix, or Solaris you would need to use the opensource update routine ez-ipupdate.

For a Macintosh computer running OS X, DNSUpdate for Mac OS X is the easiest to use.

For a computer running Windows, DynSite is the easiest client software to configure and use, but after the 30 day trial there is a $20 US fee to be paid to the developer for continued use of the software. The other popular client is the Dynamic DNS Client from Sitedevelopers, which comes in a free version, but requires more technical knowledge to work with.

Select the appropriate client software from the list and download and install it on your computer following the instructions provided by the software maker.

Now you are ready to configure the software to automatically send updates to easyDNS when your IP changes.
