Registrar Transfers

To consolidate the management of your domains, or take advantage of our superior customer service, you can transfer your .com, .net, .org and .ca domains from other registrars (such as Network Solutions) to easyDNS.

Unfortunately we cannot process transfers of .co.uk or .org.uk domains at this time. We can only register them as new or provide DNS service for them, due to pecularities with the IPS Tag system of that registry. We are hoping to be able to offer this in the near future, and will update this page when we are able to.

Why would you want to switch registrars?

Once your domain is using the same registrar as easyDNS, you can make modifications to your whois record directly from your easyDNS members' area. In addition, should you decide to use other nameservers for any reason, you can also modify the nameserver delegations (list of name servers) for your domain directly from the easyDNS members' area. All of this functionality has been built into our friendly web interface so it is as easy as updating any other information for your domain.

Does it cost anything to do this?

Yes, once you have selected a service package, you will be billed our standard, yearly fee (please refer to the pricing page) and we cannot commence the transfer proceedings until the fee is paid.

However...

You will not lose any of the time you have left with your current registrar, we simply add on an additional year. For example, if you paid your current registrar six months ago, to cover a year of registry fees, and then you select and pay for a registrar transfer and service package from easyDNS, an entire year will be added to your existing time and you will not have to remit again for another 1 1/2 years (esentially getting the service for 6 months free).

Important!

If you are going to file for a registrar transfer and you have an active web site and/or active email at the domain name you are transferring, you must either continue to use your existing nameservers OR you must select an easyDNS service package (DNS Only, Basic, or Pro service) so that you can specify the location of your web site and mail server.
