What do you get with DNS-Plus service?
With DNS-Plus service you get the best of both worlds. You get control over 100 hostname records and you can point each one to either an IP address or a URL with or without Stealth Redirection. You can also choose between specifying mail servers to handle email for your domain or using our mail forwarding to configure up to 100 email aliases. Just read on for a list of features.
Web Forwarding and Stealth Web Forwarding
If you have your web page or web site hosted on a free service (such as Geocities or Tripod) or with the
free sapce you get from your internet access provider, then you probably have a long, hard to remember
web page address. Using either standard web forwarding or stealth web forwarding, internet users can type
in your domain name and they will be redirected to your web site. All you have to do is enter the real
address of your web site in your domain settings area on easyDNS and we take care of the rest.
So, what's the difference between standard and stealth forwarding? Standard web forwarding is a simple
redirect and once visitors get to your web site they will no longer see your domain name in the location
bar, they will see the real address of your web site. However, if you wish to have your domain name stay
in the location bar and never have people see the real address of your site then just turn on stealth web
forwarding for your domain. Stealth forwarding uses frames to accomplish this feat and you may wish to
read up on stealth forwarding at http://www.easytest.com before
turning it on.
Email Forwarding
If you do not have a mail server to handle email for your domain, you can configure up to 100 email aliases fo$ have them forward email to your real email address(s). For example, you could setup:
...and have them all forward to the same email account or different email accounts (your AOL, Hotmail,
or ISP account for example).
Edit your WHOIS Information
Your WHOIS record contains information on the owner of the domain name as well as the administrative, technical, and billing contacts and the list of name servers that contain the dns information for your domain name. easyDNS provides you with access to your WHOIS information so that you can change or update any of that information as you need to. Keep in mind that the information in your WHOIS record is publically accessible (this is required by ICANN, the governing body for domain names) and not private. Therefore, you may wish to use information that is not sensitive, such as an unlisted telephone number or email address.
Please note that you will NOT have access to your WHOIS record through easyDNS if you are only using easyDNS for service only and pay a different registrar (such as Network Solutions) for your domain fees.
Support for Dynamic DNS
No static IP? No problem. Use client software installed on your system to update your IP address with easyDNS automatically when it changes (most common with DSL or Cable Modem Service).
Control Over Host Name Records
Including www.test-domain.com and test-domain.com, you can specify up to 100 hostnames that point to different (or the same) IP addresses or URLs (with or without Stealth Redirection). For example, you could setup ftp.test-domain.com to point to one IP address or URL and store.test-domain.com to point to a different IP address or URL.
Control Over Mail Exchanger(s)
You can specify which mail server(s) will handle email for your domain by modifying your MX records.
Added Safety of a Backup Mail Spool
Optionally specify 
™ as a backup mail spool for your domain and we will queue up email for your domain (for up to 5 days) in the
event that your mail server goes down or there is a network outage between the sender and your mail server.
Control Over SOA Record
Modify your Start of Authority record when you need to. You can set the Refresh, Retry, Expire, and Minimum to a variety of settings.
Support for Round Robin DNS
You can specify several different IP addresses to handle requests for a specific host and we will cycle through the list as requests for that host come in.
The Reliability of a Network of Name Servers
For added reliability, your DNS records are added to our entire network of geographically dispersed nameservers operating on several different network backbones. In the event that one of our primary nameservers is temporarily unreachable for any reason, our other nameservers are completely capable of answering requests for your domain.
Default Mailmap
If you do not have a mail server to handle email for your domain, you can setup a default mailmap, so that if someone send email to an address at your domain that you haven't specified in one of your 10 mailmaps, the email won't get lost ... it will go to the default mail address you specified.
Mail-to-All Address
If you do not have a mail server to handle email for your domain, you can pick an email address at your domain that "explodes" out to all the mailmaps for your domain ... everyone@test-domain.com, for example. A great way to get in touch with everyone quickly!
