Because of the importance of the administrative contact in the ownership and secutity of the domain name, changing that information is subject to security procedures. In most cases this is satisfied by the password protected interface and, with .ca domains, email confirmation to the address listed in the admin contact. Sometimes, however, it is not possible to use the normal means to change this information, and in those cases the following procedures must be followed.

For .CA Domain Names
CIRA requires that owner information on the appropriate one of the following forms be faxed to them as proof of the domain's owner before they will update the administrative contact information. CIRA has distinguished between "Registrants who are not Individuals" including corporations and partnerships etc, and "Registrants who are Individuals" including Canadian citizens, permanent residents, sole proprietorships etc.

Once you have printed and filled out these forms (on letterhead if required) please fax them to our office at 416-535-0237 and we will then create the identification number for your request and fax the material to CIRA with the ID number on your behalf. CIRA requires that the registrar receive the fax first before submitting it to CIRA for approval.

For .COM, .NET, .ORG (or any other) domains
If your domain is not a .ca, you need to download the instructions below and fax that information to the number included in the form. A support representative will contact you regarding the change shortly after that is received.
